Tap, Jazz, Contemporary, Hip Hop, ACRO

My dance career started at the Terry Bucaro Dance studio 30 years ago! I was fortunate to take dance classes with Terry Bucaro for 14 years.  Throughout high school I was part of the Tomahawk High School Dance team as well as I took part in many dance competitions and workshops.  After graduating from Tomahawk High School I attended the University of Wisconsin - Stout where I participated in and choreographed dances for the UW-Stout Dance Ensemble.  While teaching in the Greendale School District I began my coaching career as the Middle School Poms Coach.  During this time I also worked with Terry to offer additional dances to her classes.  After accepting a teaching job back in the Northwoods, I began teaching for Terry at the Terry Bucaro Dance Studio. During the 9 years of teaching at Terry’s studio I was an instructor in many dance styles including Tap, Jazz, Contemporary, Hip Hop, and Musical Theatre.  I am excited to be able to continue to offer dance in the great Tomahawk community.  I look forward to continuing to work with all the dancers in the area.

Creative Movement

I have 15 years of dance experience where I began dancing at the age of 3 with the Dee Polege Dance Company of Tomahawk.  Here I took classes in tap, ballet and tumbling.  When I was 8 years old, I began taking tap and jazz classes at Dorinda’s Dance studio in Merrill and studied there for 2 years until the Terry Bucaro Dance Studio opened in Tomahawk.  I was a student of Terry’s until I graduated high school.  I was also a member of the Tomahawk High School Poms dance team for 4 years.  We performed at the Miss Wisconsin Pageant and parade in Oshkosh.  I was previously a preschool teacher for over 5 years in Green Bay before moving back to the Tomahawk area with my family.  I started teaching Creative Movement and Intro to Dance classes for Terry in 2014 and I am now looking forward to continuing to teach the young dancers with Denise in her new studio.

Rylie Swan

Tap, Jazz, Contemporary

Hello, my name is Rylie Swan and I began dancing when I was 3 years old.  I continued to dance at the Terry Bucaro Dance studio for 15 years where I gained experience in many styles that included tap, jazz, contemporary, ballet, and hip hop as well as I was selected to be a student assistant with Denise. Throughout my dance career I competed in many dance competitions and took part in dance camps.  I am a 2017 graduate from Tomahawk High School and have been teaching dance for the last 2 years.  During my free time I enjoy being outdoors, hanging with friends and family, and dancing of course.  I look forward to working with the dancers again this year.

Ballet, Tap, Contemporary

I was a student of the Terry Bucaro Dance and Fine Arts studio for 13 years.  As a student, I participated in ballet, tap, jazz, and contemporary classes.  I also took part in many competitions throughout my dancing career.  As a high school student, I was a teacher assistant in the ballet classes.  While in college, I was a group fitness instructor at the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point, where I taught a variety of dance and cycling exercise classes.  Upon graduating, I returned to Tomahawk, and was the assistant teaching in the beginner, intermediate and pointe ballet classes at the Terry Bucaro Dance Studio.  I am excited to be a part of the North4 Dance Studio team, where I will be able to share my passion for ballet with my students.

Trina Armstrong

Intro to Dance: Tap, Ballet

Hello! I am Trina Armstrong.  I was born and raised here in Tomahawk, and after completing my Nursing Degree in Northern Michigan, I returned back to the area to work as the Tomahawk School District Nurse.  Dance started for me in 4th grade with the Terry Bucaro Dance Studio and has never really stopped.  In college, I joined the Dance Association of Northern Michigan University and since returning to Tomahawk, also helped with our local Tomahawk Hatchet Cheer and Dance Teams.  Throughout my career I have dabbled in tap, jazz, hip hop, cheer and contemporary, with my favorite being jazz.  When I am not dancing you’ll find me fishing, hiking with my dogs or reading.  I am looking forward to a great year with you all.
